Robert "Bob" Herman, age 60, passed away Jan. 26, 2024. He was born Oct. 12, 1963, to Charles and Helen (Pauley) Herman in Missouri Valley. Born as the fifth child amongst nine brothers and sisters, Bob valued the bond of his large family. He shared many stories to all who knew him about his experiences and escapades growing up in such a large family. He graduated from Missouri Valley Highschool with the class of 1982. Bob went on to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree from Northwest Missouri State in 1987. He met Sandra in high school, and the two were married in 1988. They were overjoyed to become parents in 1994, to their son, Taylor Ian, then again in 1996, to their daughter, Paige Madison, the couple raised their two children in Missouri Valley. For 34 years, Bob dedicated himself to his work at Creighton University, where he worked as the associate financial aid director. His pride and joy were seeing his two children graduate from the very institution he served with utmost dedication. Bob found joy in renovating homes and his love for the outdoors was apparent through his passion for hunting and fishing, that was passed down to his son, but nothing brought him greater joy than being a "Pop" to his grandson, Callen. The bond they shared was a testament to the love and affection that Robert bestowed upon his family and friends and all that knew him. A true, life-long Vikings fan, Robert's enthusiasm for the team was infectious, and he cheered with unwavering support through every victory and defeat. Yet, his truest passion was lending a helping hand to those in need.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Taylor Herman; brothers, Pat Herman, Bill Herman; niece, Amy Herman; brother-in-law, Mitch Cates.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sandra Herman; daughter, Paige Herman (fiancé, Aaron Parsons); daughter-in-law, Raelea Herman; grandson, Callen Herman; brothers and sisters, Mike (Linda) Herman, Tim (Cyndy) Herman, Kelly (Roy) Noren, Kris (Russ) Richt, Mark Herman, Marty (Janelle) Herman; brother and sister-in-laws, Pam Cates, Matt Bierwirth (Nan Colwell), John (Betty) Bierwirth; nieces, nephews and a host of other beloved family and friends.
