Robert Paul Rockwell, 77, died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, at his home in Woodbine. He was born on Oct. 25, 1947, outside of Dunlap, to Orley Edmund and Pauline Frances (Salter) Rockwell. He grew up in Woodbine and graduated in the class of 1966. Bob went on to work for the railroad for 10 years and then worked as a welder as a couple different businesses. He was united in marriage to Marcia Davis on Nov. 29, 1969, and they were blessed with two boys, Bobby and Jimmy.
Bob’s life was filled with simple pleasures. He found joy in the tranquility of nature, spending countless hours fishing in quiet streams and camping under the starry skies. They were more than just hobbies; they reflected his love for the great outdoors and his appreciation for life's natural beauty. In addition to his outdoor pursuits, Bob took great pride in the care he devoted to his home and yard. He was often found outside pulling weeds and keeping the yard nice.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bobby Rockwell; and siblings, David Rockwell, Michael Rockwell, Carolyn Rockwell and JoAnn Shelton. He is survived by his wife, Marcy of Woodbine; son, Jimmy Rockwell (Heather) of Bolingbrook, Ill.; daughter-in-law: Jessica Rockwell of Omaha, Neb.; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gary Rockwell of Shippensburg, Pa., Dorothy (Dencil) Hammock of Woodbine and John (Nancy) Rockwell of Huntingdon, Pa.; sister-in-law, Marlene Rockwell of Idaho; and many other relatives and friends.
