Robert William "Bob" Raine, 84, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Anamosa. Born on Feb. 11, 1942, in Council Bluffs, Robert was the son of Ralph and Genevieve Raine. He spent his formative years in Glenwood, where he graduated from Glenwood High School as part of the class of 1960.
On April 2, 1966, Robert married Sandra Rae Johnson in Sperry. Together they built a life filled with love and shared purpose. For several years, they resided in the Malvern area before moving to a small farm near Logan, in the mid-1970s. It was there that they raised their three sons and cultivated a passion for breeding and raising registered quarter horses. Robert had a deep appreciation for bluegrass music and found joy in reading and immersing himself in British mystery shows. These interests reflected his thoughtful and curious nature.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Raine; his parents, Ralph and Genevieve Raine; his brothers, Les Raine and Rex Raine; and his sister-in-law, Linda Raine.
He is survived by his sons, Timothy (and wife Kristy) Raine of Anamosa; Michael (and wife Michelle) Raine of Logan; Donald Raine of Boone; and stepdaughter, Jo Yanish (and husband Bill Hogan) of Milwaukee, Wis. His legacy also lives on through his grandsons, Tobias Raine, Samuel Raine, Jacob Raine, and Nicholas Raine. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his sister-in-law Margaret Raine and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
