At 1:02 p.m. on Tuesday, a message was sent out to parents of Logan-Magnolia students regarding a threat that was made through social media to a current student.
According to administrators, the threat was made by someone 'outside our school community', and the Logan Police Department was immediately contacted.
"If there's a threat, we notify the parents and the police," superintendent Tom Ridder said. "The police are involved."
School will continue as normal unless law enforcement says otherwise. This comes at a time when school-related threats happen more often due to social media and texting. According to District Administration Magazine, a school somewhere in the U.S. is closed nearly every day due to threats.
"It's unfortunate that it's been happening more, and I think all schools are dealing with it," Ridder said.
The message from the school ended by commending the students who made administrators aware of the situation.
