Two were killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash south of Modale.
The Harrison County Sheriff's Office said Louis J. Velasquez, 51, and Karin Velasquez, 52, both of Omaha, died when the motorcycle on which they were traveling left the roadway on Austin Avenue, near 307th Place several miles south of Modale. The crash happened some time prior to 9:50 a.m. on Aug. 21.
The sheriff's office said the vehicle was traveling south on Austin Avenue on a left curve and ran off the road to the right. The motorcycle and both occupants came to rest in a bean field off of the road.
The release said the sheriff's office has not determined the driver of the vehicle, as both occupants were thrown from the motorcycle and a date and time have not been determined since the crash happened hours after it was initially reported by a passerby.
The incident is still under investigation.
