Use Caution, Harvest Season is Here !!!

Harvest season is here — use extra caution

As harvest gets underway, Crawford County Farm Bureau would like to remind everyone traveling on our roads to please slow down and watch for slow-moving farm equipment.

Combines, tractors and other large equipment are moving between fields and locations, and they may need to slow down, stop or maneuver unexpectedly. A little patience and extra awareness can make a big difference.

Drivers:

• Slow down when approaching farm equipment.
• Be patient and wait for a safe opportunity to pass.
• Give equipment plenty of space.
• Watch for amber flashing lights and slow-moving vehicle triangles.
• Stay alert for oncoming traffic that may be passing equipment.

Farmers, when moving equipment, allow enough space between vehicles for traffic to safely pass when appropriate.

We all want the same thing — to get home safely to our families.
