Warren Kent Chandler, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024.

Kent was born on March 1, 1943, to Delmar L. Chandler and A. Ruth Chandler in Shenandoah.

Kent attended Modale Consolidated High School and was part of the last graduating class in 1961. He enjoyed playing basketball, and even held a record of scoring 48 points in one game. He then went on to attend Iowa State University, and was an avid fan of the Cyclone basketball, wrestling, and football teams.

Kent also attended the Modale Methodist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed his time on the boards of the Modale COOP Association, West Harrison Schools, and the Logan-Mo. Valley Country Club.  Kent had many interests and hobbies over the years, but he truly loved golfing, traveling, slow pitch softball, reading, crossword puzzles, and spending quality time with his family (especially his grandkids).

Kent farmed for over fifty years. This was one of his greatest joys. He retired from farming in 2016 and moved to Trophy Club, Texas with his loving wife of nearly four decades, Jean. He truly enjoyed the Texas weather and his ability to golf for the majority of the year. He and Jean went on many trips in their retirement.

He was preceded in death by his brother, D. Kaye Chandler; his parents, Delmar L. Chandler and A. Ruth Chandler; and granddaughters, Brinkley Chandler and Victoria Smith.

Survivors: Wife, Jean Chandler of Trophy Club, Texas; children, Heather Bryan and husband, Terry Bryan of Omaha, Neb., Noel Chandler and wife, Mindy Chandler of Fremont, Neb., Nicole Bauer and husband, Mark Bauer of Colleyville, Texas, Danielle Davies and husband, Evan Davies of Westlake, Texas, Dale Smith of Missouri Valley; grandchildren, Caelan Bryan, Lauren Bryan, Porter Chandler, Kloe Chandler, Cody Smith, Jameson Bauer, Jack Bauer, and Chloe Jarvis. He also had a very special aunt, Phyllis Ketcham in Shenandoah; as well as two nephews, Shawn Chandler and Trafton Chandler, whom he loved very much.

The family is currently planning a Celebration of Life in Iowa this summer. More information will be released at a later date. Any condolence cards may be sent to Jean Chandler (c/o Danielle Davies, 1801 Seville Cove, Westlake, Texas 76262).
