WEST HARRISON COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION MONTHLY MEETING – 6:30 PM June 14, 2023 LIBRARY – MONDAMIN, IA The West Harrison Community School District Board of Education met in regular session with the following present: Randy Wohlers, Julie Kuhlman, Hillary Stevenson, Kim Nunez and Lorraine Thomas Directors. Mr. Marty Fonley, Superintendent, Mrs. Jackie Fonley, Principal, and Tonya Radil Board Secretary. Visitors. WHEA Representative Angie Smith Called to Order. The meeting was called to order in the library at 6:30 p.m. by President Wohlers Roll Call. Consent Agenda. A motion was made by Director Kuhlman and seconded by Director Stevenson to consent agenda, May 8th and 31st board minutes, the approval of monthly bills, and the approval of financial reports. Consideration of Fundraisers for Cheerleading. Motion was made by Director Thomas and seconded by Director Kuhlman to approve the following Cheerleader fundraisers: Driveway Paint, You’ve Been flocked, Selling Tattoos, Car Wash, PanCake Man, Outdoor Movie with Lisence, Blanket Auction, Raffle, Booths for Merchandise, and Car Stickers. Motion was made by Director Stevenson and seconded by Director Kuhlman to approve the Youth Basketball Camp fundraiser. Discussion. Motion was made by Director Kuhlman and seconded by Director Nunez to approve the FY 23-24 renewal membership. Discussion. Motion was made by Director Nunez and seconded by Director Stevenson to approve the FY 23-24 renewal membership. Discussion. Motion was made by Director Kuhlman and second by Director Nunez to approve payment of FY 22-23 EOY bills. President Wohler will review the bills with the board secretary on June 30, 2023. Motion was made by Director Kuhlman and second by Director Nunez to approve Dropout/At Risk, Sharing and Reorganization, Supplemental State Aid, and School Funding Policy. Discussion. Motion was made by Director Stevenson and second by Director Thomas to approve Hi-Land Dairy Foods for the FY 23-24 milk bid. Discussion. Motion was made by Director Kuhlman and second by Director Thomas to approve the FY 23-24 calendar. The hearing will be held at West Harrison CSD, 410 Pine Street, Mondamin, IA, 51557 at 6:30 p.m. on August 9, 2023. Consideration of Hearing date for the Sale of the School Buses. Motion was made by Director Stevenson and second by Director Nunez to approve the sale of the school buses. The hearing will be held at West Harrison CSD, 410 Pine Street, Mondamin, IA, 51557 on August 9, 2023. Consideration of the Certified Staff Handbook. A motion was made by Director Kuhlman and seconded by Director Stevenson to approve the new substitute teaching rate of $150.00. A motion was made by Director Stevenson and seconded by Director Kuhlman to approve not having a July Board Meeting.
