Woodbine Legion contributes $5,000 to new Veterans Honor Park
Woodbine's Main Street and the American Legion Post #143 recently dedicated the new Veterans Honor Park.
The American Legion displayed six new flags representing all the branches of the US Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corp, Coast Guard, and Space Force. This completes the initial $5,000 contribution to the Veterans Honor Park.
"Our legion post donated $2,000 to help construct the veteran park and then contributed another $3,000 to ordain the park with a 30ft lighted American flagpole, to promote the park's dedication ceremony, and to add the six new armed forces branch flags," said Steve Harrington, commander of the Woodbine legion. "We intend to build upon this veteran park over the next few years. We want this to be a place for veterans to reflect on their service, and for the community to recognize this great country we live in."
