Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability in the world. Rapid and accurate diagnosis is critical. Knowing potential symptoms and appropriate action could make a difference in a life-or-death situation.

Dr. Ahmad Alchommali will present a program about stroke awareness at the Missouri Valley Public Library on Tuesday, April 23, at 2 p.m.  Alchommali is a board-certified Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine Physician at CHI Health in Missouri Valley. He works primarily in the Emergency Department at the hospital.

Alchommali attended medical school at Emory University in Atlanta, graduating in 1989, and then did his Internal Medicine Residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

He has 32 years of experience working in Emergency Medicine in the Iowa and Nebraska region and has worked at Nebraska Medicine and Creighton University as well as Missouri Valley since 2006. He diagnoses and treats stroke symptoms on a daily basis.

All are invited to attend the April 23 program at the library. Your knowledge might save a life!
