Alice F. Barnhart, 82

Alice Faye Barnhart, age 82, of Omaha, Neb., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, in Omaha.  Alice was born Aug. 27, 1939, in Missouri Valley, to Claudward Hugh and Emily Fry.  Alice graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1957, and became a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell.   Alice worked for H & R Block for several years in Missouri Valley.  Alice volunteered at First Lutheran Church and was active with many activities at her church.  Alice delighted in weekends with her five grandchildren.   She would take one at a time for a weekend and made the absolute best memories with each one. Once a month Alice would enjoy lunch with her Class of ‘57 classmates,  Betty Hultman, Nancy Skelton, Mary Clemons, Marylin Jordan, Joyce Lambert, Sharon Bertelson, Wanda Olsen and Marge Donnelson. 

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Claudward Hugh and Emily Fry; her husband, Donald Barnhart; and brother-in-law, Gail Ring.

Alice is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Lowell) and Terri (Patrick); grandchildren, Nicholas (Jaime), Robert, Megan, and David; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Maiya, Clara, and Rylee; sister, Dolores Ring.

Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. The funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at First Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley. Pastor Joseph Hanson officiated and the organist was Ben McIntosh. The music selections were “How Great Thou Art”, “Lift High the Cross”, “On Eagles Wings”, and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”. The casket bearers were Nicholas Meeker, Paul Ring, Lyle Ring, Robert Frederes, David Frederes, and Mason Hanson. The final resting place is at Rose Hill Cemetery in Missouri Valley.
