Bertha Nelson was born Bertha Lorraine Bunnell in San Jose, Calif., and created a warm and happy life for herself. She married Bob Nelson of Missouri Valley in 1954, and had four daughters, all born in Missouri Valley. Bertha was called Bert by Bob, and Mrs. Nelson by all her dozens of Sunday School students and kids from her Middle Schools where she worked throughout the years. She had a very successful career working for the Alum Rock School District and the Santa Clara Country Office of Education. Bertha loved flowers, crocheting, sewing, traveling, and visiting Iowa with Bob where their dear friends live and where they started their married life together. Bertha was devoted to Foothill Church and God. She is survived by Robert Nelson, her husband, and leaves a legacy of four children, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren all who loved her and always felt the kindness and attention she gave all of them. She will be greatly missed.
