Boyer Valley Superintendent Jeremy Christiansen said the district has no current safety concerns after the Harrison County Times-Reporter sought a response to a parent’s public account of alleged incidents at the elementary school in Dow City. The parent also posted an update saying administrators had heard her concerns and communicated that they would take appropriate action.

In a Facebook post, the parent alleged that her daughter had been threatened by a classmate. She also raised concerns about an alleged physical incident involving other students and questioned whether supervision was sufficient to keep students safe.

The Times-Reporter has not independently verified the alleged incidents. In her update, the parent expressed appreciation for the administration’s response.

“The school administration has heard our concerns and has communicated that they will be taking appropriate action on their end,” she wrote. “My hope is that the actions taken will help ensure a safe learning environment for all students moving forward.”

The newspaper emailed district officials Oct. 16, asking what they could confirm, how they had responded, whether there were safety concerns and whether the accounts needed correction or context. The inquiry did not request student identities or confidential records.

In his reply that afternoon, Christiansen said, “District policy does not allow us to discuss student- or staff-specific issues.” He also described the district’s general response to complaints.

“Any time there is a complaint or suspicion of student conflict or bullying, the district investigates and then determines if something is founded or unfounded,” Christiansen wrote. “There are zero safety concerns at this time.”

Christiansen’s response did not confirm or deny the specific incidents described in the parent’s post or identify any action taken. As of this report, his email was the only response the newspaper had received from district officials.
