CITY OF LOGAN SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING 108 W. 4th STREET July 21, 2026 At 6:00 P.M. Mayor McDonald called the meeting to order. Agenda item 2 was the Pledge of Allegiance. Agenda item 3 was roll call. Council Members DeWitt, Hinkel, Moss, Sporrer and Mayor McDonald were present. Council Member Troshynski was absent. Agenda item 4 was to approve the agenda. Motion was made by DeWitt and seconded by Moss to approve the agenda. 4 ayes. Agenda item 5 was approve a motion to go into closed session according to Chapter 21.5(j) of the Iowa Code to discuss the purchase of particular real estate only where premature disclosure could be reasonably expected to increase the price the governmental body would have to pay for that property. Entered closed session at 6:03pm Agenda item 6 was open the regular meeting. Motion was made by Hinkel and seconded by Moss to open the regular meeting. 4 ayes. Opened regular meeting at 6:37pm. Agenda item 7 was consider purchase of real estate and direct the City Attorney to prepare a purchase agreement. Motion was made by Hinkel and seconded by DeWitt to direct the City Attorney to prepare a purchase agreement for the purchase of land. 4 ayes. Agenda item 8 was the clerk’s report. Agenda item 9 was citizen’s questions / comments. None. Agenda item 10 was to adjourn. Motion was made by DeWitt and seconded by Moss to adjourn. 4 ayes. Meeting was adjourned at 6:38pm.
