Old Business: Purchase of Grapple for Tractor: 1st R Woodward 2nd M Jenson to Purchase a Grapple for the city tractor and install for $5600.00 New Business: * Fill open council seat: M Jenson motioned to appoint Vicki McHugh, 2nd by K Wilson Ayes Carry 3-0 * First Reading of RV Ordinance: Discussion was had about the ordinance as written, Motion by M Jenson to pass as read. 2nd by R Woodward Ayes Carry 3-0, the second reading will be on the next council meeting. * Budget information: The budget is ready and the public hearing has been posted for next Thursday March 26th at 6pm at City Hall. * 301 1st St Legal Updates: This is being worked on for code violations by the city attorney. * Property Code Violations: The council discussed many code issues throughout town and gave the city attorney orders to work on them. Also, discussion about updating our city ordinances, this will be tabled until after the budget is complete. * Discussion of Power Outage Issues and Damage: T Noah informed the council about the power outage, and other similar outages in the past that have caused damage to city electronic equipment. A discussion was had to reach out to Mid-American for a response. Also, R Woodward motioned to purchase backup battery/surge protection for our electronic devices 2nd by K Wilson Ayes 3-0 * Possible closed session to discuss ongoing or imminent litigation strategy with council pursuant to Iowa Code 21.5(c): 1st R Woodward 2nd M Jeson Roll Call Vote to Enter closed session 6:15 p.m. RW, MJ, KW * At 7:10 p.m. M Jenson motioned to end close session and returned to open meeting, 2nd K Wilson, Roll Call Vote RW, MJ, KW Ayes 3-0 Clerk Report: Vacant Maintenance, Water and Sewer Report: T Noah gave updates on current projects. He Also informed them that the city is receiving a grant to install a backup generator for the Fire Dept Building. Fire Department: Fire dept received their new air packs.
