Clare Lager, 94

Clare Lager, 94, of Missouri Valley, died on June 20, 2023, at her home.  Clare was born on July 17, 1928, in Boone, to John and Mary (LaVelle) Judge. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School.  Clare married Milton Lager on Nov. 23, 1948.  To this union eleven children were born.  

Clare was a great mom and a guiding force in the family.  She enjoyed looking out her window, watching people and birds, taking drives through DeSoto Bend, and visiting with her sisters and her grandchildren, especially the babies.

Survivors include Robert (Alinda*), Christy (Charlie*), Susan (Dale*), Jean (Mike), Raymond (Judy), Kathy (Gokhan), Joe (Deborah), Nancy (Bill), Pat (Tanya), Michael, sister Susan Lawler, Janette, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

;he is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Milton; son, David; grandson, Jonathan; sisters, Jeanne Thomas, Sister Dorothy Judge BVM, Mary Martin, Lucille Briley, Charlotte Sawyer; and brother, Gerald Judge.

Visitation was Sunday, June 25, 2023, with a Wake Service at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, June 26, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Missouri Valley. The Celebrant was Father Raphael Masabakhwa with Deacon Michael Carney. The musician was Lyle Waterhoure. The vocal selections were “Amazing Grace”, “Ave Maria”, “Morning Has Broken” and “Be Not Afraid”. The casket bearers were Michael Lager, Pat Lager, Joseph Lager, Raymond Lager, Mike Morgan, Bill Yarbrough, Robert Lager and David Lager. The final resting place is Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Missouri Valley.
