Donald “Don” Dean Anderson Jr., passed away September 25, 2023, surrounded by family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years Crystal Anderson, and children Dawn (Roger) Wilson, Donald Anderson III, David “Drew” (Nicole) Anderson, Krystal Anderson, Kamron Anderson and Kortney Anderson; mother Barbara Irwin; brother David Anderson; sisters Debra Snipes and Carla (Eddy) Chatterton; grandchildren Alyssa (Ricky Baldasti) Ladd, Brianna Ladd, Cole Wilson, Madisyn Anderson, David Anderson Jr., Caisey Anderson, Adeline Anderson; great granddaughter Rosele Coenen.

He will also be missed by his extended family including brothers and sisters inherited through marriage as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Donald Dean Anderson Sr., his mother-in-law and father-in-law James and Wilma Jacobsen and his granddaughter Kaydence Anderson.

Don logged many miles as a long-haul trucker, his driving career spanning 50 years.

He was a die-hard Hawkeye football fan and enjoyed watching football and NASCAR. He loved spending time traveling with his family and enjoying backyard bonfires at home. Don was larger than life and when he laughed you couldn’t help but laugh too, no matter how mad you were. He was loved and will be missed by many.

He's on his last long journey now, on roads that we can't follow. As we bid our last farewell, we know that he has gone to dwell in trucking heaven. Visitation Thursday 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., at Cutler O’Neill Meyer Woodring Funeral Home.

Graveside service Friday 11:00 a.m., at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.  Family and friends to meet at Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce Street, at 10:30 a.m., for procession to the grave.
