Jane E. Lytten age 83 passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, in Kansas City, Mo. with family by her side.

Jane was born September 23, 1940, in Omaha, Nebr. to Harve (H.H.) Faith and Naomi (Burling) Faith. She was raised in Missouri Valley where she graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1958, then attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.

Jane married Robert (Bob) C. Lytten June 14, 1960, at the First Presbyterian Church in Missouri Valley. Jane and Bob lived in Washta at the time. Bob’s education career took them to many Iowa towns, Peterson, Holstein, Brooklyn, Nevada and ultimately Council Bluffs. She began working for the CB School District, as a Library/Media Specialist. After 25 years of service to the district, she retired. Eventually they moved back to Missouri Valley to help care for Jane’s mother, Naomi and resided there until Jane moved closer to family in Kansas City in 2019.

Jane was an active member in the First Presbyterian Church for many years, which included both Elder & Deacon duties within the church community. Aside from her church involvement, Jane was active in many different community organizations: Jobs Daughters, Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Red Hats, Tuesday Club and the Hospital Auxiliary.

In Jane’s younger years, she was an avid bowler, until her 1st child Jeff was born, bringing that to an abrupt halt when he was tackled many times running down the alley trying to catch the bowled balls. She enjoyed many years golfing with family and friends, participated in the Tuesday ladies league as a member of the Logan-MoValley Country Club where she was also a 2-time club champion. She also enjoyed traveling both domestically and internationally, as well as making many trips to Texas and Kansas City to visit her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching Iowa Hawkeye basketball and football.

Jane is survived by daughter Jill Lytten of Kansas City, Mo., son Jeff (Lucy) Lytten of Mansfield, Texas, 3 grandchildren Mackenna (Lytten) Matteson, Jenna (Lundy) Robello & Micah Lytten, 2 great-grandchildren Olivia Robello & Eloise Matteson and many nieces and nephews.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents Harve (H.H.) and Naomi (Burling) Faith and Husband Robert (Bob) C. Lytten.

A visitation will be held 1:30 p.m. - 3: 30 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, with a family graveside service to follow.
