Lorraine L. Readman, age 84 of Logan, passed away on Friday, March. 5, 2021, at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley.

Lorraine Lee Woodard Readman was born in Logan, to Joseph and Alice (Teager) Woodard on Jan. 28, 1937. She attended and graduated from Logan High School in 1955. Lorraine moved to California to help her sister with her kids. She met her husband Frederick Readman and was united in marriage on Dec. 27, 1957, in San Bernadino, California. They welcomed to their family two daughters, Jane and Vicky, and a son, Fred. The family moved to Oregon and they were there until 1970. Lorraine moved her family back to Logan to be close to her family. Lorraine spent most of her time taking care of children. That was what she loved to do. She has watched somewhere over 200 kids in her lifetime. That includes her grandkids. Lorraine would sew the girls’ dresses when they were younger. She was a den leader when Fred was younger. In her spare time, she was involved in the Lady’s VFW Auxiliary as President and other offices, President of the Lamplighters, prepared the communion for many years, served in the church nursery and worked with the Share program. She always was sending cards out for all occasions if she had your address and loved to call and talk on the phone.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, brothers George, Jim, Paul, Harold, and Floyd, sisters Rosie, Sharon, and Ann Marie.

Lorraine is survived by her daughters Jane Hansen (Roger) of Council Bluffs, Vicky Readman of Logan, and son Fred Readman (Marisol) of Ormond Beach, Fla. Her grandkids, Sydney, and Drake Readman, and Anna Readman of Omaha, Neb.; Emily Readman of Missouri Valley, Kelsi Hansen (Ryan Chambers) of Rexburg, Idaho. Brothers Fred (Diane) Woodard of Fontana, Calif., Lyle (Vicki) Woodard of Council Bluffs; sister Shirley (Dale) Howard of Pacific Junction; sister-in-laws, Cleo Woodard of Dunlap, Edna Woodard of Glenwood, and Carol Woodard of Arizona; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, many family and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, March. 12, 2021, at Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan.

Funeral service was Saturday, March. 13, 2021 at the Christian Church in Logan.
