Marilyn Pauline Petersen, 94 years old, died on Jan. 13, 2024, at Deerfield Retirement Community in Urbandale, following a protracted decline. She was the daughter of Ernest C and Pauline C Peterson, born in Burt County, Neb. She graduated from Millard High School in 1947, and married Jess L Petersen, also of Millard, in 1948. They lived in Borger, Texas, then in Atlantic, and finally in Missouri Valley. She moved to Urbandale following the death of her husband in 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; and husband. Marilyn is survived by her son, Matthew, of Johnston; her daughter, Sherri Anderson (Mrs. Michael) of Greenwood, S.C.; a granddaughter, Jessica Dooley (Mrs. Brian) of Moncks Corner, S.C.; a great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials are requested to be directed to the donor’s preferred charities.
Private burial will be arranged for a later date.
