Michael Bennett Godden, 63, died on Friday, April 28, 2023, at his home in Logan. He was born on Sept. 24, 1959, in Omaha, Neb. He was raised in Logan by his mother, Maxine (Hazard) Lesline and stepfather, Franklin Lesline. Mike attended school in Logan, graduating in the class of 1978. He always worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator or Truck Driver and he enjoyed his most recent position as an Over the Road driver for RJV out of Westside. Mike was married to Linda Wohlers and they were blessed with a son, Michael. In 1998, he started dating Michelle Ohl and in 2002, they were married in Las Vegas, Nev. while they were there attending a NASCAR race. They were blessed with a daughter, Abby.

Mike was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Church in Logan. He loved to go fishing and camping. He also loved to ride around town on his side by side with his granddaughter, Korleigh.

Mike was preceded in death by his son, Michael Godden and stepfather, Franklin Lesline. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Godden of Logan; daughter, Abby Godden (Hunter Mickelsen) of Logan; granddaughter, Korleigh; mother, Maxine Lesline of Logan; siblings, Pamela Lefeber of Kansas City, Kan., Bob (Marsha) Lesline of Walden, Colo., Carla Lesline (Scott Gebel) of Magnolia and Chuck Lesline of Logan; parents-in-law, Rick and Virgene Ohl of Logan; and many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Logan. Father Raphael Masabakwa presided over the service assisted by Deacon Dennis Lovell. The musicians were Sue Benedickt and Beth Fouts. The pallbearers were Roger Clark, Tony Craft, Doug Johnson, Brian Madsen, Wayne Maguire, Hunter Mickelsen, Rod Ohl and Ben Sexton. Mike’s final resting place is at the Harris Grove Cemetery.
