HEAD: Public participation requested at MVCSD School Safety Workshops
Dear Missouri Valley community,
As the Superintendent of the Missouri Valley Community School District, I am writing to invite you to attend one (or both) of our upcoming Community Uniting for School Safety Workshops regarding the safety and well-being of our students, staff and community.
Ensuring the safety of our schools is a top priority for us, and we believe that this responsibility is a shared one. That's why we are excited to announce two upcoming School Safety Workshops, and we would like to invite you to join us.

Morning Workshop
Date: Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025
Time: 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.
Location: Rise & Grind Coffee Co., 401 E Erie St, Missouri Valley, IA
Evening Workshop
Time: 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Location: Missouri Valley High School, 605 E Lincoln Hwy, Missouri Valley, IA
The purpose of this workshop is to foster a collaborative approach to school safety and to provide you with valuable information on how we are working to ensure a secure and nurturing environment for our students. It is also an opportunity for you to voice any concerns or questions you may have regarding school safety.
During this workshop, we will cover various topics, including:
Security Measures: An overview of the Standard Response Protocols, Standard Reunification Method and systems in place within our schools presented by our Building Principals
Suicide Prevention and Warning Signs presented by School Psychologists
Behavioral Warning Signs and Threat Assessment presented by School Superintendent
StopIT App information presented by the School Counselors
Law Enforcement's Role in Prevention & Management of School Safety presented by the Missouri Valley Police Department
Q&A Session: An open forum to address any questions or concerns you may have about school safety
Throughout each of the topics, we will help you discover how you can play an active role in promoting safety within our community.
Your participation and engagement are vital to creating a safe and secure learning environment. Together, we can make a significant difference in ensuring the well-being of our students.
