Robert Louis Neumann age 68, of Missouri Valley, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at his home in Missouri Valley. Robert was born March 8, 1955, in Manchester to Carl and Alice (Popham) Neumann, brother to Sandy, Ed, and Russ. He graduated from Starmont High School in 1973. He was previously married to Valarie Willie for twenty years. Together they had three beautiful daughters, Jennifer, Lesley and Alison, whom he loved and cherished. In 1987, he was transferred to Council Bluffs, with Chicago Northwestern Railroad and resided in Missouri Valley.

He worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad/Union Pacific for thirty-five years and retired in 2016. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, golfing, mushroom hunting, and having a good time drinking Bud Light with close friends. He was a member of the Logan-Missouri Valley Country Club, the Eagles and the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Coyle of Council Bluffs, Lesley (Dustin) Wolfe of Blair, Neb., Alison Culliver of Omaha, Neb.; sister, Sandy Moorman; brothers, Ed (Louise) and Russ Neumann; eight grandchildren, Danielle, Jaden, Mia, Jordan, Nolan, Alin, RJ, Konnor; great-granddaughter, Avah; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Alice Neumann;; brother-in-law, Roger Moorman; and nephew, Eric Moorman.

Visitation was Monday, July 10, 2023, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley.

The celebration of life was on Tuesday at Hennessey Funeral Home. Pastor Connie McWilliams officiated. The music selections were “I Hope You Dance”, “Live Like You are Dying” and “When I Get to Where I’m Going”. The honorary bearers were Ed Neumann, Sonny Seibert, Mike Herzmann, Dave Longmeyer, Russ Neumann, Larry Meyer, Todd Bessire and Pat Guinan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Estate of Robert Neumann to be used for designation at a later date.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life Service in Lamont on July 22, 2023. Times and location to announced soon.
