Ronald “Ronnie” Dean Mann, the seventh of eight children born to Dean and Anna (Perrin) Mann at

home outside of Pisgah on May 20, 1942, died on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Azria Health Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine at the age of 81 years. He attended school in Pisgah until he was a senior, when the family moved to Woodbine where he graduated in 1961. Ronnie started carpentering with his dad and continued this his whole life, working with his best friend, Frank Plain, and for a period of time with Dave and Duane Burmeister. He was married to Maureen Miller in the RLDS church in Woodbine on November 2, 1963, and to this union were born two children, Lisa and Kevin.

The couple divorced in 1981. Ronnie, Kevin and Lisa increased their family when Ronnie married Dianne

(Perkins-Smith) and son Doug on July 16, 1983.

Ronnie was a member of the RLDS church and later the Followers of Christ church, where he was called to the office of Priest. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting with his dog, Chief, and coyote hunting with friends. Later, Ronnie started singing with his guitar and was a member of the “Noteables”.

He also sang with friends at his church, the Golden Age Center and at Rose Vista’s Tuesday sing-alongs.

Ronnie helped build many cabins at the campgrounds and enjoyed spending his retirement following the grandchildren’s many activities.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nola Chapman, Norma Hardt and Viola Plath; oldest brother, Loren Mann and younger brother, Jerry Mann; brothers-in-law, Leo Chapman, Lee Hardt and Bernard Plath; and sisters-in-law, Janice Mann and Doris Mann. He is survived by his wife, Dianne; children, Lisa and her husband Rayland Downey of Adrian, Mo., Kevin Mann and his wife Kim of Mondamin, and Doug Mann of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Zac Geith and his wife Felicia, Collin Mann and his wife Stevi, Quin Mann and his wife Haleigh, Rachel Morrison and her husband Taylor, Alyssa Mann and Kylie Mann; great-grandchildren, Drake, Morghann, Brecklyn, Brooks, Romalie and Walker; sister, Shirley and her husband Terry Weldon of Onawa; brother, Duane Mann of Woodbine; brothers-in-law, Dennis Perkins and his wife Jean of Logan, and Dan Perkins and his wife Peggy of Atlantic; and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Community of Christ in Woodbine.

Randy Killpack, Dennis Hardt and Rayland Downey presided over the service. The pianist was Jane Roden and the recorded musical selections were “Here I Am Lord”, “In The Garden” and “How Great Thou Art” previously recorded by Ronnie and “Daddy Doesn’t Pray Anymore” by Chris Stapleton. The honorary pallbearers were Kylie Mann, Alyssa Mann, Rachel Morrison, Taylor Morrison, Dan Perkins and Dennis Perkins. The pallbearers were Brian Mann, Dave Mann, Allen Plath, Zac Geith, Quin Mann and Collin Mann. Ronnie’s final resting place is at the Woodbine Cemetery.
