Rosella Ruth Price, 95, died on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, at Azria Health Rose Vista. She was born of Danish descent to Thomas Wego Rasmussen and Rose Mildred (Petersen) Rasmussen on May 2, 1928, in Omaha, Neb. She had two sisters, Helen and Mildred, and one brother, Robert. Rosella was raised on a farm just outside of Omaha. There she kept busy with school and working with the small dairy and truck garden business. On Jan. 18, 1948, Rosella married Glen William Price, a farmer from Minden. They moved to a farm outside of Minden where they were joined by two sons, Daniel and Donald. In 1951, they moved to a farm south of Persia where two little girls joined the family, Jacqueline and Nancy. In 1959 the family moved to a farm west of Woodbine and there two more little girls came along, Kayleen and Karolyn. The family were members of the Woodbine Methodist Church.

Rosella enjoyed helping with the farm work, tending chickens, gardening and working in the fields. In 1967, they bought a farm southeast of Woodbine and that is when she began working at Perfection Form Co. in Logan. From the first day Rosella was called Rosie. Perfection Form Co. was a school supply company and Rosie was in charge of the paperback books. She worked there for 22 years and seven months until retiring in 1992. Rosie went back to doing the things she loved most, working on the farm, painting buildings, crocheting, numerous crafts and painting. She even painted a picture for each of the grandchildren’s wedding gifts and her kids got one too. After moving into town in 1996, Rosie rejoined two neighborhood clubs, the Jolly Clique Club from the west side of town and the Eastside Kingenton Club from the east side of town. She especially loved Christmas with all the trimmings and having the whole family around, hectic as it was at times.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen; sons, Daniel and Donald; grandson, Justin Perkins; daughter-in-law, Linda Price; son-in-law, Les Olson; sisters, Helen and Mildred; and brother, Bob. She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Olson of Woodbine, Nancy McDaniel of Wellington, Colo., Kay and her husband Ray Ames of Belle Fourche, S.D. and Karolyn and husband Harold Decuir of Essex; 23 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 14+ great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at United Methodist Church in Woodbine. Beth Fouts presided over the service. The musical selections were “In the Garden”, “Going Home” and “Silent Night”. The pallbearers were Craig Price, Scott Price, Michael Olsufka, Troy Price, Eric Olson, Leslie Olson, Kyle Perkins, Ryan Perkins and Patrick Wilson. Rosella’s final resting place is at the Grange Cemetery.
