SPECIAL CALLED CITY COUNCIL MEETING Friday, June 19th, 2026 – 5:00 P.M. Council Chambers – Woodbine, IA The special council meeting of the City of Woodbine, Iowa was held pursuant to law on the above date and hour. Mayor Rob Cogdill called the meeting to order with the following members present: LENNING, POORE, BANTAM, MANN & SNEED. Motion Mann/Bantam to approve the agenda. Ayes: 5, Motion carried. Discussion on sidewalk replacement program. Grants will be researched; the sidewalk codes and information will be posted on the city’s website and the request for bid will stipulate Sept. 15 and Oct. 15, 2026 as deadline dates and require warranty terms. Discussion regarding the Building Inspector/Code Enforcer. We will contact some local Code Enforcers to see if they are interested in part-time enforcement for Woodbine and discuss at July 8th council meeting. Discussion on the lot next to IGINTE house at 110 W. 7th St. resulted in more information being needed. Discussion to move the cannon from the Library resulted in consensus to continue discussion with City staff about the amphitheater location. The Legion will pay for on a concrete pad. Discussion on 8th Street Engineering. It was agreed to put this out for bid. Additional discussion took place to possibly remove 8th St from being a truck route. Discussion on the LMI Survey. The city still needs approximately 200 surveys to be returned. Ways to achieve this goal were discussed. The rough UP railroad track crossing on the South side of town was also discussed with agreement that attempts will be made to contact the railroad to notify them of the need for repair.
