WEST HARRISON COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION MONTHLY MEETING – 6:30 PM May 14, 2025 LIBRARY – MONDAMIN, IA The West Harrison Community School District Board of Education met in regular session with the following present: Randy Wohlers, Julie Kuhlman, Lorraine Thomas, Kim Nunez, and Hillary Stevenson. Directors. Marty Fonley, Superintendent, Jackie Fonley, Principal, Tonya Radil, Board Secretary/Treasurer. Visitors. WHEA Representative Jami Sherer, Kathy Glennie, and David Kuhlman. Called to Order. The meeting was called to order in the Library at 6:30 p.m. by President Wohlers. Roll Call. Consent Agenda. A motion was made by Director Kuhlman and seconded by Director Stevenson to consent agenda, monthly bills, and the board minutes from April 9th, 14th, and 21st, 2025. No Discussion. A motion was made by Director Thomas and seconded by Director Nunez to approve the resignation of Tasha Haag (Junior Class Prom). The school board thanks Tasha for her time as the Junior Class Prom Sponsor. No Discussion. Directors Wohlers aye, Kuhlman aye, Thomas aye, Nunez aye, and Stevenson aye. 5-0 motion carried. A motion was made by Director Kuhlman and seconded by Director Stevenson to approve the new contracts for FY 25-26 for Tara Rife (Special Education Teacher), Samantha Bieler (Speech), Stacia Clark (Senior Sponsor), Larry King (Bus Driver), and Kim Nunez (Teammates Coordinator). There will be a retro-active contract for Kim Nunez as the Teammates Coordinator for fiscal years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. Directors Wohlers aye, Kuhlman aye, Thomas aye, and Stevenson aye. 4-0 motion carried and 1 abstained. A motion was made by Director Thomas and seconded by Director Kuhlman to approve the contract modification for Julius Michalik and Delaney Mentzer (lanes changes). No Discussion. A motion was made by Director Stevenson and second by Director Kuhlman to approve the Burgess Health School Therapy Agreement. This is the renewal agreement to allow Burgess to utilize space in our facilities to provide mental health supports for students. There is no cost to the district. No Discussion.
