Allen E. Stueve, 61

Allen Eugene Stueve, 61, died suddenly on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at the Crawford County Community Hospital in Denison. He was born on Feb. 16, 1961, to parents Ernest “Ernie” and Nancy (Leaders) Stueve in Council Bluffs. He grew up in the Logan area and graduated from Logan-Magnolia High School in 1979. Al then began his lifelong career of trucking with Ernie Stueve Trucking. On Feb. 18, 1995, Al married Paula Van Soelen at the Community of Christ in Council Bluffs. The couple lived in Logan. Al went to work for Quality Liquid Feeds (QLF) in Dunlap in 2006.

Al was a member of the Community of Christ and attended the Council Bluffs Central Congregation. He loved to spend time with his family and was very proud of them, especially his kids. Al enjoyed growing tomatoes and sunflowers, eating popcorn, helping others and playing Candy Crush. He was always tinkering and fixing things. Al could always find the positive in every situation.

Al was preceded in death by his father, Ernie Stueve; and brother, Vernon Stueve. He is survived by his wife, Paula Stueve of Logan; three children, Jacob Stueve and his wife Ally of Ankeny, Rachel Stueve and Joshua Stueve both of Logan; mother, Nancy Stueve of Logan; brother, Ed Stueve and his wife Julie of Logan; two sisters, Nanette Love of Logan and Laura and her husband Mark Hoffman of Magnolia; and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at the Woodbine Community of Christ. Donnie and Carolyn Bothwell presided over the service.  The musical selections were “Just As I Am” and “Softly and Tenderly” by Alan Jackson and “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” by Randy Travis. Honorary Pallbearers were Roger Groth, Gail Lamberson, Paul Gochenour and Clint Schillerberg. Pallbearers were Jacob Stueve, Joshua Stueve, Gabe Holben, Nick Moore, Caleb Moore and John Peschel. Allen’s final resting place is the Harris Grove Cemetery.
