City of Modale City Council Meeting Minutes October 18, 2022 The regular meeting of the Modale City Council was held on October 18, 2022. Mayor Pro Tem Katie Offenbacker called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmembers present were Katie Offenbacker, Blair Adams, Terigene Tiffey, Kathy Dugdale, and Amber Larsen via telephone. Visitors present were Chris Skinner, Johnny Cooperrider, Carl and Linda Anderson, Troy form Sundquist Engineering, and Ellissa Kappes. Staff present was Linda Windschitl and Marty Skinner attended over the phone. Tiffey made a motion to approve the consent of Agenda. Dugdale seconded the motion; motion carried with a 4-0 vote. Marty reported for the public works. There is a hole in one of the tanks in the water plant. Marty has worked with an Engineer and the DNR to get a approval for a replacement tank. Tiffey made a motion that as soon as the plans are ready Marty can order a new tank up to $15,000.00. Adams seconded the motion; motion carried with a 4-0 vote. Troy from Sundquist Engineering attended the meeting to discuss the sewer lagoon project. We have the information ready for the sludge removal and a separate permit is not needed. Once the plan is approved by the USDA we can move forward with bid letting. The council mentioned to Troy several times that our grant requires the work to be done by October 2023. It was reported that a couple of the trees from the ballpark will be moved to the veteran’s memorial area. Tiffey made a motion to approve Lisa Vavra to the Library board the term is for 2022-2027. Dugdale seconded the motion; motion carried with a 4-0 vote Two grants have been submitted for a Jimmy King grant. We should know by the first to middle part of December. Dugdale made a motion to adjourn. Tiffey seconded the motion; motion carried with a 4-0 vote.
