Michael Lanctot age 76, of Missouri Valley, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Neb. Michael Jon Lanctot was born in Sioux City on July 5, 1946. He was raised by his mother, Helene Hughes and step-father, Lyle. He graduated from Riverside High School enlisted in the Navy with Honorable Discharge in 1971. He graduated from Briar Cliff College with a degree in Chemistry and continued his education at the University of Minnesota earning a graduate degree in Public Health Care Administration. He dedicated his career to assisting others in multiple health care settings for the next 40 years.
Michael married Susan Smith in Sioux City, on April 14, 1973. Michael was a loving father to his two children always supporting them in their endeavors. He was an educator at heart always researching and teaching his children. He was an avid sports fan never giving up hope in his beloved Minnesota Vikings. Aways present at Missouri Valley sporting and school events through the years. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.
Michael is survived by his wife, Susan; his daughter, Maria Roden and her husband, William, their three children Adison, Thomas & Josephine; his son, Matthew, Nelly and their two children Aiden & Fernando.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Lanctot and Rick Hughes; and his parents.
Visitation and Memorial Service was held Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley.
