ORDINANCE #2026-7-1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE IX – FRANCHISES AND OTHER SERVICES - CHAPTER 1 – GAS UTILITY OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WOODBINE, IOWA, AMENDING GAS RATES AND SERVICES CHARGES WHEREAS, the City council finds it necessary to amend the provisions of the Code of Ordinances to amend gas utility rates and service charges; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City council of Woodbine, Iowa as follows: SECTION I. AMEND CHAPTER 1 – GAS UTILITY. The Code of Ordinances of the City of Woodbine, Iowa, is amended by deleting and adding the following text: TITLE IX FRANCHISES AND OTHER SERVICES Chapter 1 - Gas Utility 9-1-8 Service Disconnects 9-1-8 SERVICE DISCONTINUED. Gas service to delinquent customers shall be discontinued in accordance with the following: (Code of Iowa, Sec. 384.84) 2. Fees. A fee of $25.00 shall be charged when the delinquent gas bill is not paid by the date on the past due notice and the City posts a disconnect notice on the door of the address of the delinquent account. A fee of $50.00 shall be charged when the delinquent gas bill is not paid by the date and time stated on the disconnect notice posted on the door of the address of the delinquent account. No fee shall be charged for the usual or customary trips in the regular changes in occupancies of property. If service is discontinued there will be a $75.00 reconnection fee charged if service is restored during regular business hours and a $150.00 reconnection fee if service is restored after regular business hours. SECTION 2. REPEALER. All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. WHEN EFFECTIVE. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
