PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF MODALE Public notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Modale is holding a public hearing at 7 p.m. on January 9, 2023, at City Hall, 310 East Palmer, Modale, Iowa, concerning the proposed sale of 408 N. Main Street, legally described as follows: A part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (NW1/4SE1/4) of Section Thirty (30), Township Seventy-nine (79) North, Range Forty-four (44) described as commencing at a point 481 feet South and 33 feet East of the Northwest corner of said Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (NW1/4SE1/4), thence South 100 feet, thence East 17 rods more or less to the West right-of- way line of the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad, thence North 100 feet more or less to a point directly east of place of beginning, being otherwise known and described as Lot Six (6) of said NW1/4SE1⁄4 of Section Thirty (30), Township Seventy-nine (79) North, Range Forty-four (44), all West of the 5th P.M., in Harrison County, Iowa. The City is seeking a buyer to enter into a Real Estate Contract with the City of Modale upon terms including but not limited to payment of the purchase price, the removal of all dilapidated structures within 6 months of entering into the Contract and the construction of approved improvements upon the real property within 18 months of the Contract. The successful bidder will be the bidder with the proposal the council determines brings the most benefit to the City of Modale. Following the public hearing and absent any legitimate objection to the proposal, the City Council is expected to approve the sale to the successful bidder.
