Richard (Rick) Keith Snyder, age 52, passed away Oct. 18, 2022. He was born Aug. 26, 1970, in Council Bluffs. Rick graduated from Missouri Valley High School with the class of 1988. He went on to attend Buena Vista University on a baseball scholarship. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and worked at West Corporation and Union Pacific Railroad.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, watching his kids’ sporting events, and The Beatles. He was a fan of the Mets, the Titans, and the Hawkeyes. He loved life, being competitive, and especially loved making people laugh.
Rick is survived by his mom, Debbie Barnard (Tim Waldron); his children, Alex (Dalton) Stone, Trey (Jenny) Snyder and Kaden Snyder; siblings, Brenda (Shawn) Thomas, Mike (Leslie) Snyder, Carrie Snyder, and Bob (Joanna) Barnard. He was Papa Rick to Jase, Myla, Ryder and Archer. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, Sara, Adam, Ethan, Elliott, Eric, Maddie and Bobby; and a host of other family and friends, including the late Trevor Rehfeldt.
Visitation was held at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022. A Memorial Service was held at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The family will direct memorials.
