The first event on a long list of activities took place at the Missouri Valley Public Library last Wednesday, June 7.

The kickoff summer event saw children painting watercolors under the guidance of Anne Prucha.

Summer activities will continue each Wednesday, with a typical time of 3 p.m. There are certain exceptions based on the activity.

The next event, on June 14, is also at 3 p.m. when Ranger Alyssa of the DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge stops to talk about the world of birds and their voices.

A schedule of summer children's activities can be picked up at the library, and questions can be answered at 712-642-4111.
