Boyer Valley PTO plans second annual Ride Around Town

The Boyer Valley Parent Teacher Organization will host its second annual Ride Around Town on Saturday, Oct. 24, combining a Halloween-themed hayrack ride with fundraising for school activities and resources.

The event is open to adults 21 and older. Participants should arrive at the Dunlap Golf Course at 6 p.m. to check in, with hayracks scheduled to depart shortly afterward. Registration is $25 per person. Costumes are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded for the top three.

The route will include four host stops featuring snacks and drinks, along with a stop at the Dog House Bar & Grill for costume judging. Participants will spend approximately 30 to 45 minutes at each host location before continuing through town, according to PTO secretary Megan Hanigan.

The hayracks will return to the golf course, where a DJ will provide entertainment following the ride.

Hanigan said the fundraiser draws inspiration from a similar event previously organized by the former Boyer Valley Optimist Club.

“It was always a great time, and we wanted to do something fun while still being able to raise money for a good cause,” Hanigan said.

The Ride Around Town is a major fundraising event for the PTO, which supports a variety of programs and needs at Boyer Valley schools. Past contributions have helped provide assemblies, Crawford County Nature Center programming at the elementary school, teacher appreciation activities and equipment for recess.

The $25 registration fee reserves a spot on the hayracks. Participants should plan for additional expenses if purchasing drinks at the golf course or the Dog House Bar. They may bring coolers, their preferred drinks, snacks and blankets for the ride.

Those who register by Oct. 18 will receive a free drink of their choice at the Dunlap Golf Course. Oct. 18 is the deadline for the drink offer, but registration will remain open leading up to the event and will also be available that evening.

Participants can register through the link on the Boyer Valley PTO Facebook page. Anyone paying for multiple participants should include the names of everyone covered by the payment.
