Harrison County Supervisors Meeting January 4, 2024 Chairman Tony Smith called the meeting to order with members Brian Rife and John Straight in attendance. The tentative agenda was approved on a motion by Straight, second by Rife. Motion carried. The previous minutes were approved on a motion by Rife, second by Straight. Motion carried. Attendance: Auditor Susan Bonham, Paul J. Rhoten, Rebecca Wilkerson Engineer County Engineer, Steven Struble, met with the Board for project updates. 194th Street Bridge at Kendrick over Allen Creek – Contractor has completed the concrete deck slab installation and welding and is installing the bridge handrails. 210th Street The Board approved that a Level B portion described as part of 210th Street (east of the intersection with Tama Trail) beginning at N ¼ corner of Section 33-80-41 and continuing easterly along 210th Street a distance of one half mile (0.5 mile) to the intersection with Toledo Avenue near the NE corner of Section 33-80-41 shall be incorporated into the current Level A system on a motion by Rife, second by Straight. Motion carried. Mark Zack’s Payout The Board approved the benefit payout for Mark Zack in the amount of $4,294.40 on a motion by Rife, second by Straight. Motion carried. Board Comments Complaints on Carroll Trail, Grover Ave and 242nd at Hog Creek were relayed to Engineer Struble. Discussion took place about the broken cement on the Schwertley Drainage Ditch with Engineer Struble indicating that the County would clean it up at no cost. FY25 Budget Auditor Bonham reviewed the estimated tax levies for General Basic and Rural Basic funds and will be recommending actions to comply with the new tax limitation legislation at next week’s meeting. Claims Claims, as presented, were stamped for approval. With business of the day completed, the Board adjourned on a motion by Straight, second by Rife. Motion carried.
