Harrison County Supervisors Meeting July 28, 2022 Chairman Pro Tem John Straight called the meeting to order with member Tony Smith in attendance. The tentative agenda was approved on a motion by Smith, second by Straight. Motion carried. Previous minutes were approved on a motion by Smith, second by Straight. Motion carried. Attendance: Auditor Susan Bonham, Paul J. Rhoten Anhydrous Ammonia Storage Agriland FS requested approval for the installation of a new anhydrous ammonia storage tank at 1792 Panora Ave. No comments were received from the public. Motion to approve the request as presented was made by Smith, second by Straight. Motion carried. Handwritten Warrant A handwritten warrant to US Bank in the amount of $6,284.51 was approved on a motion by Smith, second by Straight. Motion carried. Condemnation Board The Board appointed Brent Hansen and Joan Martens (as Bankers and Etc.) and Julie Witte (as owner of city property) to the condemnation board on a motion by Smith, second by Straight. Motion carried. Engineer County Engineer Steven Struble updated the Board on the following projects: Taylor #12 Bridge Replacement on F-50 over Allen Creek – Contractors Holly Brown Construction and Christensen Brothers have completed their portions of the bridge construction and paving. Iowa Plains Signing installed the bridge delineators yesterday, removed their barricades and plan to apply the pavement marking soon. Jefferson #1, Boyer River Bridge on Parker Trail – Railroad insurance is certified and the contract is signed by IDOT. 194th Street HMA Overlay, FM-CO43(91)—55-43 – Paving and shouldering work is complete. Laredo Avenue Culvert Project at Melody Oaks Trail/Jo Lyman’s Place – County staff is writing a work order for county crew to install a fireproof outlet pipe on the 6” plastic field-tile outlet that they discovered in the west backslope. Smith asked Engineer Struble to inspect Panora Ave as there is a 2” dropoff along the edge of the concrete, edges are breaking off and cracks are forming at the seams. Straight asked Engineer Struble to inspect the intersection of Hwy 30 and Overton Ave as there is an edge-rut when turning onto Overton. With business of the day completed, the Board adjourned on a motion by Smith, second by Straight. Motion carried.
